CALL FOR ENTRIES 2018
The coveted Financial Reporting (FiRe) Award, which is in its seventeenth year, seeks to promote and recognize excellence in financial reporting among entities in the East African region. The award is presented annually during a gala evening by the joint promoters; the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Kenya, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) and the Public-Sector Accounting Standards Board-Kenya (PSASB-K).
Best reporting entities in the region are recognized and awarded in a bid to encourage organizations to embrace best practices in reporting and demonstrate governance. The Award is aimed at promoting integrated reporting through enhancing accountability, transparency and integrity in compliance with appropriate financial reporting framework and other disclosures on governance, social and environmental reporting by private, public and other entities domiciled in East Africa.
The Entry & Evaluation Process
The Evaluation Panel comprises of professionals drawn from the accountancy, audit practice, industry and academia with expertise in financial reporting standards, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. Participants are each provided with valuable feedback for continuous improvement.
The submission deadline for the FiRe Award 2018 entries is Friday, August 3rd, 2018. Participating entities should submit seven copies or a soft copy version of their latest Annual report and audited financial statements and complete the Participant’s entry form. Members are requested to encourage their institutions submit their annual financial statements for this evaluation process.
